Dr. Jacob Jaremko Discusses The Power of AI in Medical Imaging – AMII Podcast Guest Appearance

In the latest episode of Approximately Correct, Dr. Jacob Jaremko sits down with hosts Alona Fyshe and Scott Lilwall from Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii) to discuss how machine learning is being used to make ultrasounds easier and more accessible to everyone, including those in rural or remote communities.

While ultrasound devices are relatively portable compared to other forms of medical imaging, they can be very difficult to use and interpret the results. As Dr. Jaremko says in his interview with the Amii team, “It’s very hard for people to understand without training, you’re looking at these pictures and it just looks like a snowstorm.”

Dr. Jaremko has focused on using machine learning to build smarter, more intuitive ultrasound devices that can be used with less specialized training. The goal is to empower medical professionals in more remote areas with the ability to administer ultrasound, thereby positively impacting the lives of patients in these communities.
