MIC is Moving to Digital Results for Better Patient Care

What’s Changing?

MIC Medical Imaging is excited to announce an important update for patients who have recently completed a screening mammogram. Starting October 23, 2025, the process for receiving your Women’s Results Letter (WRL)—the summary document that helps you understand your screening mammogram results and next steps—is moving from traditional mail to secure digital platforms.

Why the Change?

This change is part of a province-wide initiative to improve how patients receive their screening results. Changing from physical letters sent by mail to digital results will make the process faster, more reliable, and convenient for patients.

How Will You Get Your Results?

Instead of waiting for a letter in the mail, you will now be able to view your Women’s Results Letter combined with your radiologist’s report through several secure digital patient portals, including:

Your referring physician will also receive your results through their usual channels, including their electronic medical record (EMR) system or by fax (based on their preferences). The combined report will also be available in MIC’s Provider Portal and in provincial repositories such as Netcare and Connect Care.

Benefits of the New Digital WRL Delivery

  • More Reliable & Faster Access: Digital delivery helps avoid issues caused by postal disruptions, supporting a smoother, more consistent experience for patients.
  • Convenience: Access results anytime, anywhere from a computer or mobile device.
  • Clarity: The WRL is a patient-friendly summary that sits right before the radiologist’s report, helping patients understand their results and outlining any recommended next steps.

WRL Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Referring providers will continue to receive your results through their usual channels. If you have questions about your results, please contact your doctor as you normally would.
You can access your results through any of the portals listed above (MyChart, My Personal Records, or MIC’s Patient Connection).
